How it works: Chair time per patient = start-and-finish minutes + (regular appointments × minutes each) + (emergencies × minutes each). Regular appointments = treatment months × 4.345 weeks ÷ weeks between visits. Appointments per patient counts each start-and-finish item the patient actually attends — treatment planning / ClinCheck review is doctor time, not a patient visit, so it adds to hours but not to the visit count. Emergency appointments are unscheduled visits that must be seen within 24–48 hours — a broken bracket or a poking wire. Aligner cases are set to zero here because nothing in aligner treatment has to be booked on that timescale; a lost or ill-fitting aligner waits for the next scheduled visit. Net profit per case = patient fee − lab and hardware fees. Profit per hour = net profit ÷ chair hours; profit per visit = net profit ÷ appointments. Annual figures multiply per-case results by your case volume.
Lab fees and Advantage tiers: The Invisalign lab fee is not typed in — it is set by your Advantage tier. Lab fee = list price × (1 − tier discount) × (1 + sales tax). Your Invisalign case volume picks the tier, so the Current Invisalign column uses the tier your volume earns today and the Best Practices column uses the tier your target volume would reach. The Fixed Appliances column keeps its own hardware and lab fee. Comprehensive cases only — other Invisalign products have their own list prices, and subscription programs are a separate fixed cost not modeled here.
Note: Net profit figures do not account for practice overhead or operating expenses.
